Meet The Founders

In August 2024, three friends in Murfreesboro, TN, united by their love for barbecue, set out to turn their individual passions into a collective experience. As they bonded over their pursuit of the perfect brisket and the ideal smoky flavor, they realized a significant gap in their community: there was no official organization dedicated to bringing together barbecue enthusiasts. Inspired by their shared passion and recognizing the potential to foster a vibrant community, they founded the Que-Munity BBQ Club. This club was established not just to celebrate their love for grilling but to create a space where like-minded individuals could connect, share their culinary creations, and deepen their appreciation for the art of barbecue.

Keith Gimmy – A BrisketU Certified Backyard Pitmaster, dedicated United States Army Veteran, and family man, has been mastering the art of cooking over an open flame for over 15 years. Known for his standout dish, the “O-Turkey,” Keith has earned a reputation for his exceptional smoked turkey that captivates the senses. His preferred cooking method involves an offset smoker fueled by locally sourced and aged fruit woods, although his culinary creativity doesn’t stop there. Keith enjoys experimenting with various techniques, from using cast iron and disposable aluminum pans to even trying unconventional items like pizza rolls. His philosophy is simple: if it can be cooked in an oven, it can be elevated to new heights over an open flame. Keith’s culinary adventures are shared with his wife, son, and a lively pack of four-legged grilling buddies who enthusiastically serve as taste testers for his grilled creations.  

Patrick Miller – Also a proud Army Veteran, turned father of four and software leader, Patrick has always loved cooking for others but BBQ has always eluded him due to a lack of a house and backyard. However, two years ago he managed to meet co-founder Louis Kemp, bought an Oklahoma Joe Bandera, and his smoking journey began. Patrick’s first BBQ love is bacon, which he perfected and has started selling to his friends and neighbors. Patrick lives in Murfreesboro TN, with his wife Debora, his four children, and a very small dog.

Louis and Jabada Kemp – Growing up in the South, family and friend gatherings have always been moments to cherish. Outdoor cooking, from Grama’s recipes to Dad’s Southern grilling style, has consistently been a highlight, offering unique flavors that captivate our attention. My journey led me to Tennessee, where I played football for Middle Tennessee State University. This experience expanded my imagination as I traveled to opposing stadiums, witnessing diverse tailgating setups and people savoring the moments before the games, pre-game highlights in themselves. After my college football tenure, I chose to make the beautiful Middle Tennessee area my home, alongside my wife, Jabada, and our three sons, Jaylin, Charles, and Jabari. Their unwavering support for the idea of a BBQ ideas has been boundless. Together, we are committed to serving others and creating an environment for enjoyable outdoor leisure grilling!
